Our Story
Isla Mer was created by a woman whose life is shaped by movement—crossing oceans, wandering sun soaked villages, seeking inspiration in old stone streets and breathtaking coastlines. Driven by the passions of travel, joy-filled living and a chic aesthetic - she dreamed of clothing that could accompany her
from coast to coast, chasing every sunset...

Made in Toronto using curated textiles and designed with comfort, adjustability, and effortless femininity in mind, Isla Mer is resort wear that travels beautifully—pieces that carry you from a poolside Aperol spritz to candlelit dinners under foreign skies.

Our Founder
From a young age, Isla Mer’s founder, Heidi Malley, dreamed of becoming a fashion designer. Initially pursuing Interior Design at Ryerson University, she realized that—while creative—it wasn’t the path that would truly fulfill her. She left the program and stepped into the film industry, where she spent the next decade working and traveling the world.
After visiting 33 countries, Heidi felt called back to her original passion. She began a new chapter, studying Fashion Design at George Brown College. Upon graduating, she landed a role as a Pattern-Maker and Designer for local denim brand Form Era.
Inspired by the founders’ drive, ambition, and entrepreneurial spirit, Heidi recognized that she too was ready to create
something of her own.

With the intention of creating a life she loved, she combined her love of travel and fashion, and thus ISLA MER was born.
A brand dedicated to creating timeless, effortless pieces for women who want to feel confident, elegant, and inspired in every moment.
Born in Toronto and crafted with intention,
Isla Mer is a resort-wear label for women who crave beauty, comfort, and the feeling of living life on their own terms.

Every piece is designed for the woman who is constantly daydreaming of her next escape—someone who collects moments, feelings and flavours.
She’s the friend who knows the quietest beaches, the best espresso bars, the view worth the stairs, and the joy of living in the moment.
